Researchers have discovered that grape seed extract flavonoids Plant compound that is associated with pigmentation. Flavonoids have been shown to modify allergens, viruses, inflammation, and various carcinogens. Found in green tea, citrus, berries, onions, parsley, red wine, dark chocolate, and others. can inhibit the growth of colon cancer cells as well as kill them. Once again, a nutrient known to be highly protective of healthy cells knows how to help get rid of mutant cells.

Grape seed extract was found to increase an abnormal influx of calcium ions into the colon cancer cells, triggering free radical damage and cell death. The higher the dose the more pronounced the killing effect.

Nutrients like fiber, probiotics, folate, magnesium, calcium, and vitamin D have numerous studies showing colon cancer risk reduction. Another flavonoid, quercetin, has also demonstrated colon cancer protection. This new study shows a clear mechanism for grape seed extract activity against colon cancer cells.
